How to Use AdRotator
Answered By Shweta Kulkarni on 3/19/2009 8:18:19 AM
1.Create XML File in your working directory and Write following code in that file where you can set your own details of images and links.
<Advertisements >
<Ad>
<ImageUrl>~/images/client_logo.png</ImageUrl>
<NavigateUrl>http://www.yahoo.com</NavigateUrl>
<AlternateText>Sample1</AlternateText>
<Impressions>100</Impressions>
</Ad>
<Ad>
<ImageUrl>~/images/ClientLogo.gif</ImageUrl>
<NavigateUrl>http://www.google.net</NavigateUrl>
<AlternateText> Sample2</AlternateText>
<Impressions>50</Impressions>
</Ad>
</Advertisements>

2.Save the file.

3.Drag and drop AdRotator control on web page.

4 you can either set advertisement file that is xml file or you can use xml data source file which is connected to xml file placed somewhere else.

E.g Set AdvertisementFile property
<asp:AdRotator ID="AdRotator1" runat="server" AdvertisementFile="~/MyAdd.xml" />
using advertisement file.

Or Using XML as Data Source.

Set the DataSourceID property
<asp:AdRotator ID="AdRotator1" runat="server" DataSourceID="XmlDataSource1" />
<asp:XmlDataSource ID="XmlDataSource1" runat="server" DataFile="~/MyAdd.xml"></asp:XmlDataSource>

Or else you can use any other data source to bind data to this control
