 passing parameter from .aspx page , it can't process plz help me

i am writing javascript code in .aspx page
function sum(s)
{
if(s==null)
{
alert(''PLZ Fill');
return false;
}
}

i am pass parameter form .aspx.cs pge , i am wiriting code in pageload
button1.attribute.add("Onclick", return sum(TextBox1.text),me requriment is, if i am not fill first textbox1. then it raise error , but it also raised alert msg if i am not filled second box.

i want dispay only first textbox. i want this process only (i'e parameter passing )

You can try RequiredField Validator

Hi,

You can try RequiredFieldValidator control to achieve this. No need to write any JavaScript code to validate the Text box.
